Dr. Arnold Kammel, MA
Dr. Arnold Kammel studied Law and Political Science in Graz, Vienna and Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) and holds a Doctor of Law degree of the University of Graz. He obtained a Master of Arts in Business from the University of Applied Sciences in Eisenstadt. In 2004 Arnold Kammel became a research fellow at the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES). From 2007-2014, Arnold Kammel served as the Secretary General of the AIES. From 2015-2018, he has been Director of the AIES. Before joining the AIES he was a research fellow at the Institute of Austrian, European and Comparative Public Law and Political Science at the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz. Arnold Kammel was also Vice-President of the Atlantic Treaty Association in Brussels. He teaches regularly on European and security topics at the University of Applied Sciences in Eisenstadt as well as the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt. His research covers the topic European integration (focusing on EU foreign, security and defence policy) as well as EU Governance and transatlantic relations. Since 2018 he is Policy Advisor at the Cabinet of the Federal Minister for the EU, Arts, Culture and Media at the Federal Chancellery.
